My Shop

Just recently I have nearly completed a doubling of my shop space. It just gives me a little room to spread out, and to have tools in more convenient positions.

This is the front of the shop. It is a couple months away from the siding, stairs, and a permanent door being installed, along with some shrubs planted all around the outside. Basically, during the shop expansion, I pushed the front of the shop out 8 feet. This improvement also added more and bigger windows. The window on the far left is in a 4'x16' storage room that also contains my dust collector, and the air compressor.

View from just inside the front door, pointing toward the left rear of the shop. In the middle is my old Craftsman 10" table saw equipped with a 18" Jointech SawTrain Fence, and the left side of the sawtable is a router table with a 3hp Mikita Router. Behind the Table Saw, is the new door into the shop extension. Right on the other side of the door is the Air Compressor, and a very large window that helps to light that part of the shop.

This is the view toward the right rear of the shop, standing at the lathe. My homemade work bench is in the middle of the floor, and behind it are most of my hand tools along the wall. In the far corner is my new Rikon Ultimate 14" Bandsaw, that I love.

This is the view back toward the front door area taken from behind the Table Saw. You can see my a Ryobi Spindle sander under the left window, and just barely visible on the right of the door is the Dewalt Planer under the right window. Just visible on the lower right side of the picture is the Ridgid 6" Jointer.

View back toward the Vega 2600 Bowl Lathe. My shop is lined, floor to ceiling with white pegboard. In the near future the ceiling will covered with white acoustic ceiling tile. The shop is plumbed for compressed air and 6"dust collection throughout. With this expansion - heck I may put a small refrigerator out there. I already have Air Conditioning, T.V. and a decent Radio/CD Player. I the middle of the shop is a Proformax 16-32 drum sander, and to the left is the grinder, Delta 12"Disk Sander, and Delta 6"x48" Belt Sander.
